About
This short but rewarding walk from St Fillans leads up to a spectacular viewpoint overlooking Loch Earn, one of Perthshire’s most beautiful lochs. Beginning from the village, the path climbs gradually through woodland and open hillside, offering ever-expanding views of the shimmering waters below.
As you ascend, the panorama unfolds: the length of Loch Earn stretching westward, backed by the mighty bulk of Ben Vorlich, with the neat whitewashed cottages of St Fillans framed by the surrounding green hills. The viewpoint itself is a perfect spot to pause, soak up the scenery, and enjoy a picnic while watching light play across the loch. On clear days, the vistas extend deep into the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park.
The walk is well-suited to families and casual walkers looking for a short excursion with a big visual reward. It’s a wonderful way to experience the beauty of Loch Earn from above, without committing to a long or strenuous hill climb.
