About
Tucked away at the head of Glen Clova, Corrie Fee is one of the most dramatic and beautiful glacial corries in Scotland. Often described as a hidden amphitheatre, its steep cliffs and sweeping bowl were carved out during the last Ice Age, leaving behind a landscape that feels both wild and majestic.
The walk begins gently from the Glen Doll forest, following a clear track through tall pines before emerging into the wide, open bowl of the corrie. Here, towering crags rise on all sides, framing a scene that feels almost alpine in scale. In spring and summer, the corrie comes alive with rare arctic-alpine plants, while red deer are often spotted grazing on the grassy slopes. A tumbling stream cascades down the corrie floor, adding to the atmosphere.
The path climbs steadily towards the headwall, where adventurous walkers can continue onto the plateau above to reach Mayar and Driesh, two Munros that overlook the corrie. But even turning back from the base offers one of the most spectacular short walks in the Cairngorms.
